The Barbados cherry is also known as the `Acerola cherry`, due to it`s high vitamin C content. It is about 1" in diameter, thin skinned, and bright red when ripe. This cherry is ready for harvest May though November and is delicious when eaten fresh or frozen. It makes a great specimen plant or as a hedge and has beautiful pink flowers in spring and summer. Easily grown in containers and is self fruitful.
