The Cardboard Palm gets its name from the leaf segments, which are very stiff and feel like thick cardboard. This beautiful little plant is excellent in Florida landscapes and does well in homes for our customers up north. The plant grows to a height of 3-5 feet and because it is very slow growing, it can remain container grown throughout its life. A fascinating Cycad (a conifer more closely related to a pine tree than a palm), that is easy to grow and very tropical in appearance. Palm fertilizer is recommended for this as they have similar requirements to palms. Everyone need a few of these in their home and landscape!!
