The Rose Apple is a close relative of the commercial spice Clove, the Malay Apple and the Wax Jambu. The genus Syzygium is full of fascinating, rare fruits and spices and this is no exception. The 1 1/2- 2 inch fruits are pinkish to yellow when ripe and sweet. It is an excellent contrast to its very dark green, shiny foliage. For beauty and gracefulness, there are few trees like this one. The tree, in warm areas, will reach 20 to 25 feet and potted about 10 feet. The fruit flesh is similar to that of an apple in texture, but tastes exactly the way a rose smells. We recommend this plant to anyone. They like well-drained soil and Citrus Granular 4-6-8 Fertilizer. Full sun is best and temperatures above 45F degrees.
