The Satsumas are an easy peeling mandarin/tangerine with a mild sweet flavor. They are very low in acid and are considered a commercially seedless fruit. Satsuma's ripen on a very cold hardy, open tree, during the months of September through November. They are one of the earliest ripening citrus. Fruit are of medium size for tangerines. Trees grow to a height of about 18 feet when planted in the ground. They are frequently grown in colder climates that will not allow sweet oranges to grow. An excellent flavored fruit. A Jene's Tropicals favorite!! Everyone needs a couple of these trees. Excellent for container growing as the the trees are graceful and bushy. Will reach 8 feet potted.
